As a leader, my career journey has been one of ‘The road less travelled’. I have worked successfully in the family law sector in private practice, non-government and government services since 1994 as a Relationship Counsellor/ Therapist, Relationship Educator, Child Consultant, Supervisor, Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, Mediator and Collaborative Family Law Solicitor.
I view my successful career journey as ‘leadership chapters’ where I have developed extensive knowledge and experience in supporting couples, individuals, ‘families’ and health professionals to grow into the people they want to be and lead the life they want to lead. My experience has shown me people make sense of who they are by being in relationship and by feeling psychologically safe in their relationships. It is through our language regarding ourselves to another and their response to us is the place where we make sense of the ‘Who’. Through gaining awareness and insights into our emotional blocks we can start to be the people we want to be and have the life we want to have.
As I am naturally curious about people and interested in the ‘Who’ my special interest is exploring the emotional issues which occur during our pre-relationship, relationship, separation and post separation stages of life. My focus and for purpose service is providing counselling, coaching, psychotherapy, family dispute resolution, supervision and workplace conflict coaching & mediation.
The reflective therapeutic model I use in therapy, supervision and mediation is underpinned by Emotionally Focused theory. Through this process, clients have gained insightful awareness into their emotional well-being by exploring their blocks, which frees them up to be more loving and caring as parents, partners and to be happier people in their life decisions and choices they make in everyday life.
